US House Speaker and Congressional rep for California’s 20th district, Kevin McCarthy, threatened to cut funding for Visas for migrants from Chile due to organized burglary operations in the United States. According to a report from Brad Jones at the Epoch Times, McCarthy ” threatened to use the congressional spending bill to block funding of a visa waiver program for Chile,” at a press conference held in Santa Ana last Friday.

The report clarified that Chile does not allow “the United States do criminal background checks on Chilean nationals entering the country on visa waivers.” This, despite the fact that Chileans are being arrested in the United States in increasing numbers for organized crime activities.

The criminal activities center around “sophisticated” residential burglaries, rather than brute force. Chilean criminals utilize jammers to incapacitate cell phones and WiFi burglary systems, and will use misdirection such as disguises such as ” uniforms and camouflage outfits.” McCarthy stated that the criminals will “raid the house stealing the safe…. Then they work with China, putting the money back into South America.”

McCarthy, and  Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer, “criticized the Biden administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken” for not exercising their existing power to protect Americans from organized crime. Not to mention China which facilitates the money laundering operations.

McCarthy stated that if the Biden administration does not act by the end of this week, House Republicans will gut the funding in the congressional spending bill.
